Landscape & Irrigation Classes Set for Roseville Utility Exploration Center - Spring 2012

Creating Beautiful Gardens with Less Water
March 24, 2012 (a Saturday) | 10:00 am-3:30 pm | Course Code 56033
Instructors: Elaine Applebaum, Cheryl Buckwalter, Lori Palmquist

Learn how to design and install a beautiful garden that uses water efficiently. Spend the morning learning the fundamentals of design, plant selection, and irrigation. In the afternoon, head outside to apply what you have learned, as we evaluate the existing landscape and the water-conservation garden. We'll create a mock garden by measuring the site, place and plant plants, and position drip irrigation. You are invited to bring your lunch for the half-hour lunch break.
REGISTRATION: Please contact the staff at the Roseville Utility Exploration Center to reserve your space for this class or those below. You may call them at (916) 746-1550 or register through the RUEC's website at: www.roseville.ca.us/explore/workshops/default.asp. Residents receive discounts on workshop fees. Families pay one fee.

Instructor: Lori Palmquist
|
Course Code 56037
Build a mock sprinkler system and a mock drip system. Emphasis will be placed on the actual components required and how they fit together in cohesive water-efficient set-ups. Reference handouts will empower class participants to apply what they have learned to their own gardens. Whether you are starting with a blank slate, or looking to upgrade an existing irrigation system, you will come away with the knowledge and tools to ensure that your irrigation system uses water wisely.
